Ryan Schraeder

School: Valdosta State
Position: T
Bio: Junior-college transfer who started the past two seasons at Valdosta State, winning All-America and all-Conference honors after each campaign.
Positive: Hard-working college left tackle best in a small area. Sets with a wide base, works to bend his knees, and blocks with a nasty attitude. Gets after assignments, stays square, and turns defenders from the action. Keeps his feet moving on contact, works well with linemates, and keeps his head on a swivel. Rides opponents from their angle of attack and works to finish the play.
Negative: Lacks playing balance, marginally effective sliding off the line in pass protection, and gets tall as the play progresses. Really doesn E(TM)t get much movement when run blocking.
Analysis: Schraeder is a smart, tough lineman but a limited athlete with marginal upside for the next level. He'll offer possibilities as a backup on the strong side.
