John Wetzel

School: Boston College
Position: T
Bio: Two-year starter used at both left and right tackle.
Positive: Large and relatively athletic college tackle coming off a disappointing senior season. Explosive, strong at the point, and easily pushes opponents from their angle of attack. Keeps his feet moving, quick to the second level, and stays with the action. Displays good awareness and works well with line mates. Effectively bends his knees for a tall lineman, blocks with leverage, and plays with solid fundamentals.
Negative: Average run blocker and struggles to finish the play. Lacks footwork off the edge in pass protection. Stiff and cannot adjust to oncoming blitzes.
Analysis: Wetzel was highly rated entering the 2012 season but failed to meet expectations. He went from mid-round choice to free-agent prospect but comes with upside and should be stashed on a practice squad for possible future development.
