Stefphon Jefferson

School: Nevada
Position: RB
Bio: Broke into the starting lineup last season, winning all-Conference honors after rushing totals of 375 carries/1883 yards/24 TDs and pass-catching numbers of 22 receptions/170 yards/1 TD. Sophomore ground totals included 78/429/5.
Positive: Smooth ballcarrier coming off a career season. Finds the running lanes, squeezes through the small openings on the inside, and can turn it on in a single step. Possesses an explosive burst of speed and shows the ability to cut back in a small area. Possesses the agility and quickness to turn the corner. Solid receiver out of the backfield.
Negative: Plays too upright. Marginally instinctive and very rough around the edges. At times does too much east/west running. Does not attack blocking assignments.
Analysis: Jefferson possesses the physical skills to be a rotational player at the next level. While he improved in 2012, he still needs a lot of work on his game and may never be anything other than a backup in the NFL.
