Mike James

School: Miami-Fl
Position: RB
Bio: Moved into the starting lineup as a senior, posting career numbers of 147 attempts/642 yards/6 TDs on the ground with 30 receptions/344 yards/3 TDs as a pass catcher. Junior ground numbers included 72/2075/7.
Positive: Strong, interior running back who carries the ball with excellent vision and instincts. Follows blocks, will pick and choose his spots on the inside, and doesn E(TM)t go down without a fight. Shows power, grinds it out on the inside, and rarely goes down on initial contact. Falls forward when tackled to pick up the extra yardage. Solid pass catcher out of the backfield.
Negative: Does not play to his 40-time, lacks the speed necessary to turn the corner, and doesn E(TM)t show a burst. Not a creative back with the ability to make defenders miss.
Analysis: James was a consistent ballcarrier at Miami and offers the size and skill to play at the next level. He's a mid-round choice and with the ability to line up in a number of offensive systems in the NFL.
