Matt Brown

School: Temple
Position: RB
Bio: 2012 Big East Special Teams Player of the Year with an average of 14.2 yards on 17 punt returns as well as 25.5 yards on 31 kickoff returns with one score. Rushing totals last season included 60 carries/372 yards/4 TDs. Junior rushing totals included 155/916/6 with an average of 10.1 yards on 18 punt returns.
Positive: Small but elusive ballhandler who can create his own yardage. He runs low to the ground and behind his pads. Agile and quick on his feet. Possesses the speed necessary to turn the corner or beat defenders into the open field. Patient. Finds the running lanes and bursts through them. Can cut back against the grain, avoid piles, or make defenders miss. Plays aggressively and keeps his feet moving on contact.
Negative: Not a ballcarrier who picks up yardage off initial contact. Marginal offensive threat as a senior.
Analysis: Brown is a change-of-pace ballcarrier for the next level but must immediately produce as a return specialist this summer to make a roster.
