Chris Thompson

School: Florida State
Position: RB
Bio: Played in eight games as a senior and totaled ground numbers of 91 carries/687 yards/5 TDs before suffering a season-ending knee injury. Played in five games the prior season posting ground totals of 29/83/1 before breaking two vertebrae in his back, which ended his year. Sophomore totals included career-best numbers of 134/845/6.
Positive: Quick, elusive ballcarrier who struggled with multiple injuries the past two years. Runs ow to the ground, gets lost behind blockers, and finds the cutback lanes. Possesses the speed and quickness to turn the corner, shows a burst through the hole, and turns it on in a single step. Sets up then follows blocks, displays tremendous footwork, and has the ability to string together several moves over the course of a single run. Patient, consistently makes defenders miss, and gives effort blocking. Solid receiver out of the backfield who consistently makes receptions with his hands. Plays bigger than his listed size and gives effort in all areas of the game.
Negative: Not a big, tackle-breaking running back and brought down at the point by a single defender. Average production as a pass catcher. Has dealt with several serious injuries the past two years.
Analysis: When healthy and at the top of his game, Thompson is a versatile skill player who can be used as a ballcarrier or receiver out of the backfield. He possesses the ability to create his own yardage and is dangerous in the open field but must show no ill effects from the recent injuries and stay healthy to have any type of NFL career.
