Steele Jantz

School: Iowa State
Position: QB
Bio: Started eight games as a senior, posting 62.1%/1603/yards/13 TDs/12 INTs while adding 216 yards rushing. Started seven games as a junior and totaled 1519 yards passing and 216 yards on the ground.
Positive: Athletic quarterback who makes plays as a passer and as a ballcarrier. Displays nice pocket sense, natural looking off the safety, and quickly locates the open wideout. Possesses deceptive arm strength and can put the deep throw out in front of receivers to let them run to the ball. Stands in the pocket and takes a big hit in order to get the throw away. Elusive carrying the ball and makes defenders miss in the open field.
Negative: Late with his throws and has receivers waiting on passes. Does not always find the safety and struggles with his reads.
Analysis: The ability to produce as a passer and ball carrier out of the pocket will give Jantz an opportunity as a pistol-style quarterback at the next level.
