Ryan Nassib

School: Syracuse
Position: QB
Bio: Three-year starter awarded all-Conference honors as a senior after totals of 62.4%/3749 yards/26 TDs/10 INTs. Set a Syracuse single-season record for passing yards, touchdown passes, and completions last year. Junior totals included 62.4%/2685/22/4.
Positive: High-percentage passer with a terrific feel for the quarterback position. Patient, stands strong in the pocket, and takes a big hit in order to get throws away. Sees the field, goes through receiver progressions, and improvises when things break down. Makes good decisions under the rush. Always in control of situations and does an outstanding job commanding the offense. Goes to the safe underneath outlet if nothing is available downfield, displays the ability to get outside the tackle box, and loses nothing throwing on the move. Spreads the ball around and uses all his targets. Knows where his receivers are and quickly locates the open wideout. Possesses an explosive release and shows good speed on the intermediate throws. Can power the ball through tight windows and throws difficult out patterns well.
Negative: Inefficient setting up to throw and wastes a lot of movement. Stiff and mechanical in his throwing motion, which often results in inaccurate passes. Has a lot of passes dropped or bobbled. Lacks great pocket height. Must learn to take something off throws and improve his touch passes. Not a great scrambler.
Analysis: Nassib was incredibly productive in college and projects well to the next level. He has the ability to start in a variety of offensive systems but needs to fine-tune his mechanics and learn to put touch on throws.
