Colby Cameron

School: Louisiana Tech
Position: QB
Bio: 2012 WAC Offensive Player of the Year after putting up career-best passing numbers of 68.8%/1 4147 yards/31 TDs/5 Interceptions. Junior totals included 56.4%/1403/11/2 in six games.
Positive: Accurate timing passer who elevated his game last season. Patient, displays terrific poise in the pocket, and does a great job commanding the offense. Knows where his receivers are on the field, looks away from covered targets and does not make mental mistakes. Sells ball fakes. Goes through progressions with good timing. Accurate on short passes and does a nice job putting the ball where only his receiver can make receptions.
Negative: Lacks a big-time arm and struggles putting speed on throws. High off the mark when he tries to power the ball into targets. Marginal downfield accuracy.
Analysis: Cameron did an exceptional job as a senior and is a precise quarterback who makes proper choices in the pocket. He lacks great physical skills for the next level but is a solid fit in a West Coast or timing offense as a backup.
