Bio: Named to severalall-America teams as a senior after totaling 40 tackles/15 tackles for loss/3.5sacks. Started three games as a junior and posted 7/2.5/2.
Positive: Fast rising, small school prospect with outstanding size and speed for the next level.Athletic, moves well about the field and plays with a high motor. Easily flowsto the action, displaying the ability to get down the line scrimmage or outsidethe numbers to make plays. Forceful at the point of attack, tough defending therun and explosive. Solid special-teams player who creates turnovers.
Negative: Better makingplays up the field and struggles in coverage. Not a sound wrap-up tackler. Mustdo a better job using his hands.
Analysis: Powell is aterrific athlete with the size and athleticism to develop into a productivedefender at the next level. A college defensiveend who projects to outside linebacker in a 34 alignment, he needs to continuehis progress on the field but could be a solid special teams player this fall.
