Stansly Maponga

School: TCU
Position: OLB
Bio: Three-year starter awarded all-Conference honors since his freshman season. Junior totals included 26/6.5/4 when he missed two games with injury. Posted career numbers of 55/13.5/9 as a sophomore 2011.
Positive: Athletic defensive prospect who can lineup in a three-point stance or stand up over tackle. Plays with good pad level, fires off the snap, and displays outstanding movement skills. Shows power, plays with good body control, and effectively pursues the action laterally. Immediately alters his angle of attack, can flatten off the edge, and possesses a closing burst. Works his hands throughout the action, displays an array of moves getting off blocks, and plays through the whistle.
Negative: Lacks great size and will struggle defending the run in the NFL. Possesses more of a burst rather than sustained speed.
Analysis: Maponga is an athletic prospect and showed the ability to be a forceful defender the past two years. He lacks classic size and is best suited as a 3-4 outside linebacker or one-gap defensive end at the next level.
