Ramon Buchanan

School: Miami-Fl
Position: OLB
Bio: Three-year starter who played in just two games last season and totaled 10 tackles before suffering a season-ending knee injury. Again had his season cut short with a knee injury in 2011, this time after four games when he posted 18 tackles. Started 10 games as a true junior in 2010 and finished the year with 54 tackles.
Positive: Quick, explosive weakside linebacker prospect whose career has been marred by injuries the past two years. Breaks down well, explosive, and fast getting to the action. Easily changes direction, outstanding in pursuit, and gets depth on pass drops. Displays the ability to get outside the numbers and chase the action. Cuts off the corners. Dependable with nice skill in pass coverage.
Negative: Undersized and easily blocked from the action. Overmatched by larger tight ends in coverage. Coming off two serious knee injuries.
Analysis: When healthy, Buchanan was a terrific one-gap linebacker with the potential on the weakside. He's shown little durability the last two years and his NFL career is in jeopardy.
