Evan Frierson

School: Illinois State
Position: OLB
Bio: Senior totals included 72 tackles/12 tackles for blocks/6.5 sacks after 66/15/6.5 as a junior when he was awarded all-Conference honors.
Positive: Explosive weakside linebacker prospect who covers a lot of ground. Breaks down well, remains disciplined with assignments, and gets depth on pass drops. Easily changes direction and is effective in pursuit. Quickly locates the ballcarrier, chases plays from the back side, and scrapes well laterally. Works to get involved and shows an aggressive streak in his game.
Negative: Struggles getting off blocks, and is easily out positioned by opponents or handled by a single blocker. Minimal force on the blitz.
Analysis: Frierson was productive for two years and possesses the underlying abilities to be used as a backup weakside linebacker in the NFL.
