David Nwabuisi

School: Northwestern
Position: OLB
Bio: Two-year starter who posted 97 tackles/8.5 tackles for loss/1 sack as a senior when he also intercepted three passes and broke up two more. Junior numbers included 84/8.5/1.
Positive: Undersized, yet quick linebacker effective in pursuit. Fast moving in every direction of the field. Covers a lot of area, easily gets outside the numbers, and quickly pursues the action. Can turn it on in a single step, possesses a terrific closing burst, and loses little momentum when he must immediately alter his angle of attack. Explosive, aggressive, and plays bigger than his listed size. Quick up the field filling gaps in run defense.
Negative: Doesn E(TM)t display good awareness in coverage or a feel for what's happening when the ball is in the air. Undersized and will be overmatched by opponents.
Analysis: Nwabuisi is a chase-and-run linebacker best in pursuit. He possesses the skill set and upside necessary to play in a one-gap system. He's a special-teams prospect who must improve his skill in coverage to have a career in the NFL.
