Jeff Locke

School: UCLA
Position: K
Bio: Four-year starter awarded all-Conference honors as a senior. Averaged 43.3 yards on 77 punts last season with a long of 61 yards. Had 22 punts of 50 yards or longer in 2012. Junior totals included an average of 44.3 yards on 64 punts. Career best punt of 81 yards came as a sophomore. Never had a punt blocked in college. Also handled kickoff duties at UCLA registering a four year average of 66 yards on 264 kickoffs.
Positive: Strong legged athlete who can handle the punting and kickoff duties at the next level. Kicks moon shots, consistently gets tremendous hang time on punts and always gives coverage teams the ability to get downfield and make plays. Possesses a smooth stroke and has the ball explode off his foot. Easily flips the field if necessary, effectively places punts inside the 5-yard line and shows ability as a directional punter. Punches the ball through the opposing end zone on kickoffs.
Negative: Line drives kickoffs and does not get great hang time. Takes a while getting the ball off his foot on punts.
Analysis: Locke was a consistent punter for UCLA and offers the leg strength necessary to start in the NFL. He possesses a great deal of versatility in his game and needs only to quicken his touch-to-toe time and improve the hang time of his kickoffs to see the field at the next level.
