Dwayne Woods

School: Bowling Green
Position: ILB
Bio: Three-year starter awarded all-Conference honors after his sophomore and junior seasons. Totals last year included 68 tackles/8.5 tackles for loss/3 sacks after 111/14/2 as a junior. Posted a career-best 134 tackles as a first year starter in 2010.
Positive: Small yet aggressive linebacker who flies around the football working to make plays. Effectively diagnoses the action, has a quick first step, and sells out to stop the run. Possesses a good head for the ball and easily redirects to the action. Remains disciplined with assignments. Effectively uses his hands to protect himself and takes good angles to the play.
Negative: Lacks great lateral pursuit speed. Struggles in man coverage situations. Easily blocked from the action and gets caught up in the traffic.
Analysis: Woods is a terrific run-defending linebacker but is ultimately one-dimensional. Best making plays in the box or downhill, he'll ideally slot in at the next level as a backup inside linebacker and special teamer for a 3-4 team.
