Andy Mulumba

School: Eastern Michigan
Position: ILB
Bio: Two-year starter awarded all-Conference honors as a senior after totals of 73 tackles/7 tackles for loss/1 sack. Junior totals included 51 tackles.
Positive: Undersized college defensive end expected to transition to linebacker at the next level. Fluid moving about the field, easily gets outside the numbers to chase the action, and shows ability in pursuit. Immediately alters his angle of attack, works his hands throughout the action, and possesses a burst of closing speed. Plays with good pad level, keeps his feet moving on contact, and displays edge speed rushing the passer. Occasionally dropped off the line of scrimmage and shows ability in space.
Negative: Easily controlled at the point of attack by a single blocker. Marginal pass rushing skills.
Analysis: Mulumba is an athletic prospect with an undeveloped game but a defender who covers a lot of area on the field and chases after the action. He offers upside and should be stashed on a practice squad.
