Nik Embernate

School: San Diego State
Position: G
Bio: Three-year starter awarded all-Conference honors as a senior.
Positive: Consistent small-area blocker with minimal upside for the next level. Quick off the snap, strong at the point, and gets movement run blocking. Anchors in pass protection, keeps his head on a swivel, and works hard to get a pad on defenders. Seals opponents from the play. Works blocks hard and always looks for someone to hit.
Negative: Stiff and ineffective blocking in motion. Struggles adjusting to oncoming blitzers.
Analysis: Embernate was a solid college lineman who played hard every week and consistently got positive results. However, he's a marginal athlete who offers neither the size for a power running game or agility to be a zone blocker. His durability and football sense could help Embernate catch on as an inexpensive backup.
