Jim Johnson-Webb

School: Alabama A&M
Position: G
Bio: Four-year starter who lined up at both guard and left tackle. All-Conference selection as a senior.
Positive: Large, offensive line prospect with nice upside. Patient blocker who stays square, then gets his hands into opponents and effectively keeps them away. Makes good use of angles, steers defenders from their angle of attack, and controls them once engaged in a block. Sets with a wide base, adjusts or redirects to the blitz, and a strong run blocker who moves defenders off the line. Large enough to engulf or seal opponents from the action.
Negative: Lacks the quick and fluid footwork sliding out in pass protection. Tends to get too tall when asked to cover a larger area. Not light on his feet or effective blocking in motion.
Analysis: Johnson-Webb has been productive and durable blocker on the small-school level and offers NFL size. He must pick up the minute details of his position, yet is a practice-squad prospect with future potential.
