J.C. Tretter

School: Cornell
Position: G
Bio: Two-year starter who began his college career at tight end. Awarded all-American and all-Conference honors as a senior.
Positive: Durable college left tackle who projects to guard at the next level. Sets with a wide base, works to bend his knees, and keeps his feet moving throughout the action. Immediately gets his hands up, correctly places them into defenders, and steers opponents from their angle of attack. Stays square, keeps head on a swivel, and a is a solid position blocker. Makes good use of blocking angles, plays with good instincts, and shows good awareness on the field. Works well with teammates.
Negative: Stiff and lacks footwork sliding out in pass protection. Not a dominant drive-blocking lineman.
Analysis: Tretter is a nice-sized athlete who has shown solid development on the offensive line over the past two seasons. He offers ability as a zone-blocking guard but will need time before he's ready to takes snaps in the NFL.
