Pat Williams

School: McNeese State
Position: DT
Bio: Two-year starter who finished with 26 tackles/3 tackles for loss/1.5 sacks as a senior after junior totals of 46/7/3.
Positive: Undersized but explosive defensive tackle prospect coming off a disappointing season. Fires off the snap with a terrific first step, quickly changes direction, and displays good movement skills. Keeps his feet moving on contact and flashes the ability to bull rush opponents off the line. Plays with balance, moves well laterally and shows enough speed to get outside the box to make plays.
Negative: Must do a better job using his hands to protect himself. Does more chasing around the field than actual playmaking. Handled by opponents at the point of attack. Once blocked, he stays blocked.
Analysis: Williams is a relatively athletic defensive lineman with potential as a 3-technique tackle. Marginally productive on the college level, he must elevate every aspect of his game this spring to make it out of rookie minicamp.
