Nicholas Williams

School: Samford
Position: DT
Bio: Two-year starter awarded all-Conference honors since his junior season. Senior totals included 31 tackles/8 tackles for loss/6 sacks after 23/3/2 the prior season.
Positive: Developing defensive line prospect with a nice degree of upside potential. Quick off the snap, bends his knees, and breaks down well. Consistently plays with good pad level, effectively uses his hands to protect himself, and slides off blocks to get to the ballcarriers. Fluid chasing the action laterally and moves well on his feet. Has nice length as well as growth potential.
Negative: Does not display top playing strength and easily turned from the play. Gets washed from the play by a single blocker.
Analysis: Williams is a late bloomer of sorts and showed NFL potential the past two seasons. He offers the size and growth potential to line up at defensive tackle but also will receive consideration at end in a 3-4 alignment. Williams needs work and must improve his playing strength but is a terrific developmental prospect.
