Michael Brooks

School: East Carolina
Position: DT
Bio: Full-time starter the past two seasons and awarded all-Conference honors as a senior after totaling 35 tackles/3.5 tackles for loss/2 sacks. Junior totals included 55/5.5/1.
Positive: Tough, explosive defensive lineman who projects as a 3-technique tackle in the NFL. Plays with good pad level. Fluid changing direction and shows the ability to slide down the line of scrimmage in pursuit of the action. Plays hard, fires to the ballcarrier with a quick first step, and breaks down well.
Negative: Only a marginal closing burst. Struggled with knee injuries in the past.
Analysis: Brooks possesses the size and movement skills to line up in a four-man front at the next level but must elevate his production and continue to rebound from the season-ending knee injury he suffered in 2010.
