Johnathan Hankins

School: Ohio State
Position: DT
Bio: Two-year starter awarded all-Conference honors as a junior after posting 55 tackles/5 tackles for loss/1 sack. Sophomore totals included 67/14/3.
Positive: Large, athletic defensive tackle who controls the line of scrimmage. Powerful, plays with good pad level, and bull rushes double-team blocks to collapse the pocket. Focused on by opponents yet consistently finds ways to make the play. Displays good movement skills and the ability to collapse down the line scrimmage in pursuit of the action. Massive, takes up a lot of room, and impossible to move off the point. Gets a lot of momentum going up the field and can be an unstoppable force.
Negative: Looks overweight and needs to get in better condition. Marginal pass rusher.
Analysis: Hankins is an impressive specimen who clogs the middle of the field and makes plays down the line scrimmage. He needs to polish his game and better condition himself, yet Hankins comes with tremendous upside. He should be a longtime starter in the NFL provided he's focused on the task at hand.
