Travis Howard

School: Ohio State
Position: CB
Bio: Two-year starter who posted 40 tackles/4 interceptions/2 pass breakups as a senior after 41/2/3 the prior year.
Positive: Instinctive cornerback with good ball skills yet poor speed for the next level. Plays heads-up football, rarely makes mental mistakes, and shows good awareness on the field. Tracks the pass in the air, effectively positions himself against opponents, and shows a nice move to the throw. Physical, works hard to defend passes, and shows good hands for the interception. Out muscles opponents to knock away the throw and gives effort defending the run. Shows a closing burst of speed.
Negative: Poor footwork moving in reverse. Struggles staying downfield with opponents.
Analysis: Howard is a skilled cornerback with a terrific feel for the position. He lacks the speed for man coverage, yet could fit in as a dime cornerback used in zone
