Leon McFadden

School: San Diego State
Position: CB
Bio: Three-year starter who also lined up with the first-team for six games as a freshman. All-Conference selection since his sophomore season. Senior totals included 61 tackles/2 interceptions/12 pass break-ups after 46/2/17 as a junior.
Positive: Talented cornerback who plays with attitude. Displays excellent awareness and instincts in coverage, effectively reads the quarterback, and shows good timing defending passes. Quickly locates the ball in the air and shows a burst to the play. Keeps the action in front of him, does not back down to a challenge and voluntarily comes up the field to defend the run.
Negative: Not tall and overmatched by bigger receivers. Lacks elite speed.
Analysis: McFadden was a consistent and balanced player on the college level. He projects well as a nickel back in the NFL and could see spot duty as a starter.
