J.T. Floyd

School: Michigan
Position: CB
Bio: Full-time starter the past two seasons after seeing extensive action with the first-team as a sophomore. Senior totals included 48 tackles and five pass breakups. Junior numbers included 48/2/8.
Positive: Big cornerback who lacks next level playing speed. Quick up the field to help defend the run, plays with an aggressive attitude, and mixes it up with receivers throughout the route. Keeps his head on a swivel, shows good awareness, and displays a sense of timing on pass defenses. Stays with receivers out of breaks, has a nice move to the throw, and keeps the action in front of him.
Negative: Lacks a fluid and smooth backpedal. Gets beat deep and doesn't have long-range speed.
Analysis: Floyd is a tough cornerback with good ball skills but lacks the speed to start in the NFL. He would be effective in a zone system and offers potential as a dime back/special teams player at the next level.
