Desmond Trufant

School: Washington
Position: CB
Bio: Three-year starter awarded all-America and all-Conference honors as a senior after posting 36 tackles/1 interception/9 pass breakups. Junior totals included 64/2/14.
Positive: Skilled cornerback with a solid game. Quick flipping his hips to transition with opponents off the line, mixes it up with receivers throughout the route, and nicely times his pass defenses. Stays with receivers out of breaks, has a quick burst to the ball, and plays explosive football. Works hard defending throws and quick up the field to stop the run.
Negative: Better facing the action and at times slow getting his head back around to locate the pass in the air. Very quick leaving his backpedal and, for the most part, prefers to side shuffle down the field, giving up of positioning to opponents.
Analysis: Trufant was consistent on the college level and is athletic. He needs to improve the finer points of the cornerback position but is a prospect with the skill and measurables to start in the NFL.
