Corey Broomfield

School: Mississippi State
Position: CB
Bio: Two-year starter who totaled 40 tackles/1 interception/3 pass break-ups as a senior after 59 tackles and five pass breakups the prior year. Struggled with a shoulder injury throughout his senior campaign.
Positive: Relatively instinctive defensive back who plays with great explosion. Aggressive, quick up the field to defend the run, and displays a terrific straight-line burst of speed. Shows good sideline-to-sideline range, has a burst to the ball out of his plant, and effectively times his pass defenses. Works well with safeties, shows solid awareness, and wraps up when tacking.
Negative: Possesses average ball skills. Coming off a significant injury. Overmatched by tall receivers.
Analysis: Broomfield is a serviceable prospect who can lineup in dime packages and play special teams at the next level if he's healthy.
