Van Chew

School: Syracuse
Position: WR
Bio: Two-year starter who finished with 37 receptions/471 yards/3 TDs as a senior after junior totals of 41/611/5.
Positive: Thinly built underneath receiver coming off a disappointing senior campaign. Comes back to the ball out of pass routes, uses his frame to shield away defenders and works hard to make himself an available target. Consistently extends his hands to make the reception away from his frame. Displays good quickness and the ability to separate from opponents.
Negative: Lacks top-end speed and is not a downfield threat. Loses out in battles.
Analysis: Chew displayed signs of being an NFL prospect after his junior season of 2010 yet was unable to elevate his game last season. He's a slot receiver with solid hands, but he must quickly produce in summer camp to have any chance of making a final roster.
