LaQuinton Evans

School: Southern
Position: WR
Bio: All-conference selection as a senior after posting career numbers of 45 receptions/696 yards/6 TDs. Junior totals included 17/329/5.
Positive: Adequately sized pass catcher who times well in the 40. Settles into the open spot of the defense, extends his hands to offer the quarterback a target and nicely adjusts to errant throws. Uses his frame to shield away defenders and protect the pass. Gives effort blocking.
Negative: Lacks a burst and does not play to his timed speed. Struggles adjusting to the ball in stride. Rounds off routes.
Analysis: Evans turned in a breakout campaign last season but is still very much more athlete than football player. He's a practice squad prospect with the physical skills to develop into a fifth wideout if he takes his game to the next level and learns to do the little things well.
