Dale Moss

School: South Dakota State
Position: WR
Bio: Former South Dakota State basketball player who started his college football career in 2011. All-conference selection last year after leading the team in receiving with 61 receptions/949 yards/6 TDs.
Positive: Athletic wide out with tremendous upside. Fluid releasing off the line into pass routes, plays with good body control and nicely adjusts to the errant throw, making the reception in stride. Sells routes, uses his hands to separate from defenders and plays strong. Better than average route runner for an inexperienced player, showing the ability to quickly get into breaks then staying low on exit and positioning himself to make the reception. Comes back to the ball, displays a nice sense of timing and gets vertical over defenders to come away with the difficult grab. Looks the pass into his hands and displays soft, reliable hands. Makes a lot of very athletic receptions. Takes big hits but holds onto the ball. Gives effort blocking, stays with assignments and gets results.
Negative: Not quick releasing off the line of scrimmage, shows a marginal burst of speed and does not make many plays downfield.
Analysis: Moss made an immediate impact for the South Dakota State football team once he stepped onto the gridiron last season. He looked like an experienced wide out and possesses the skills necessary to develop into a third or fourth receiver at the next level. Moss needs time to develop his game yet is definitely worth the investment of a late-round choice.
