David Blackburn

School: Central Michigan
Position: TE
Bio: Two-year starter awarded all-conference honors as a senior after posting career-best numbers of 34 receptions/479 yards/5 TDs. Junior totals included 22/285/3.
Positive: Underrated pass catching tight end who's gone unnoticed in the scouting community. Breaks down well, plays with leverage and displays solid tight end speed. Plays faster than his 40 time, creates mismatches in the secondary and extends to make the difficult catch in a crowd. Nicely adjusts to errant throws. Quickly gets into blocks, plays with a nasty attitude and turns defenders off the line.
Negative: Lacks classic tight end size, blocks with a narrow base and struggles finishing blocks.
Analysis: Since moving into the starting lineup as a junior, Blackburn has shown consistent improvement in all areas of his game. He's shown enough ability on the field to get consideration as a third tight end on the depth chart.
