Andre Lyles

School: Fayetteville State
Position: S
Bio: Led the team in tackles as a senior, posting 60 tackles/1 interception/3 pass breakups after 69/6/9 as a junior when he ranked second on the defense in tackles.
Positive: Opportunistic defensive back who makes a lot of plays on the ball. Athletic, plays faster than his 40 time and displays good range with the ability to get outside the numbers to make plays. Keeps the action in front of him, works well with cornerbacks and makes a lot of plays on the field. Strong open-field tackler who brings ballcarriers down on initial contact. Breaks down well and effectively uses his hands to protect himself.
Negative: Takes improper angles to the action against the run. Marginally instinctive and does not always display good wherewithal.
Analysis: Lyles possesses the physical skills to backup at a number safety positions and has shown playmaking ability in the past. His size and speed alone are worth bringing him into a camp, and Lyles' football skills should secure him a spot on a practice squad.
