Ryan Houston

School: North Carolina
Position: RB
Bio: Rotated into the lineup as a senior and finished with 85 tenths/325 yards/7 TDs on the ground while adding five receptions. Sat on the sidelines in 2010 with suspension. Part-time starter in 2009 and finished the year with a career-best 191/713/9.
Positive: Large, bruising runner who picks up the difficult yardage. Displays good vision, effectively uses blocks and plays smart football. Keeps his feet moving on contact and shows power on the inside. Breaks tackles and picks up a lot yardage off initial contact. Effectively picks up blitzes and stays with blocking assignments.
Negative: Only effective on the inside and loses momentum when he must quickly change direction. Lacks speed around the corner. Has marginal burst.
Analysis: Houston is an underrated prospect that offers a variety of skills. He's a potential short-yardage back and lead blocker that can protect the quarterback. Potentially a late-round pick, Houston should be an effective role player in the NFL.
