Jonathan Hernandez

School: Massachusetts
Position: RB
Bio: Two-year starter awarded all-conference honors since his junior season. Senior totals included 261 attempts/1092 yards/12 TDs on the ground with 18 receptions/209 yards catching the ball. Junior rushing totals included 219/938/9 with 16/211/1 receiving.
Positive: Strong, one-speed ballcarrier who runs low to the ground. Patient, waits for blocks to develop and displays good quickness. Runs hard on the inside, weaves through traffic and finds the running lanes. Has a burst through the hole and can turn it on in a single step. Terrific job following blocks everywhere on the field. Solid receiver out of the backfield.
Negative: Not a smooth cutback runner and loses momentum when he must quickly change direction. Not a back who will beat defenders into the open field or run to daylight.
Analysis: Hernandez is an elusive change-of-pace back who could make it as a third-down specialist in the NFL with his ability to create yardage and catch the ball out of the backfield.
