Ryan Baker

School: LSU
Position: OLB
Bio: Two-year starter awarded all-conference honors as a senior with totals of 58 tackles/3.5 tackles for loss/1.5 sacks. Junior totals included career-best numbers of 87/11/7.
Positive: Smart, instinctive linebacker who displays great quickness. Remains disciplined with assignments, displays a terrific head for the ball and covers a lot of area on the field. Fluid getting out to the flanks, effectively redirects to ballcarriers and consistently puts himself in a position to make plays. Puts his shoulders into ballcarriers and wraps up.
Negative: Undersized and gets caught up in the trash or easily blocked from the action. Lacks the speed to stay with tight ends in coverage.
Analysis: Baker was a solid starting linebacker at LSU the past two years, but lacks the measurables to be a starter at the next level. He'll offer potential as a backup and should stand out on special teams.
