Demario Davis

School: Arkansas State
Position: OLB
Bio: Three-year starter awarded all-conference honors the past two seasons. Senior totals included 69 tackles/10 tackles for loss/3 sacks, one interception and four pass breakups. Junior numbers included 63/3.5/1 with two interceptions.
Positive: Athletic weak side linebacker prospect who covers a lot of area on the field. Fast in every direction, displays good range and easily gets out to the flanks in pursuit of the ballcarrier. Can turn it on in a single step, quickly changes direction and shows a terrific closing burst. Remains disciplined with assignments, flies around the field and easily redirects to the action. Breaks down well and gets his hands up protect himself. Recognizes responsibilities in pass defense and displays great quickness.
Negative: Struggles handling blocks despite his size. More of a linebacker who will chase down the action rather than a true playmaker.
Analysis: Davis was productive at Arkansas State and has the size/speed numbers necessary to start on the weak side at the next level. He's a solid developmental prospect who could see action as a rookie in certain third-down situations as he develops into a three-down linebacker.
