Jay Teply

School: Northern Iowa
Position: G
Bio: Two-year starter awarded all-conference honors as a senior.
Positive: College left tackle who projects to guard in the NFL. Big-bodied lineman who stays square and works to keep the defender in front of him. Patient in pass protection, blocks with a wide base and gets his hands into defenders. Adequate footwork off the edge and displays the ability to knock speedy pass rushers from their angle of attack. For the most part bends his knees and displays better than average strength.
Negative: Lacks playing balance. Does not possess a dominant base and gets pushed back off the line. Marginal athlete.
Analysis: Teply possesses NFL size and displays next-level pass blocking skills. He lacks great upside yet is worth consideration on a practice squad.
