Tyrell Nielsen

School: Central Washington
Position: DE
Bio: Played in seven games as a senior, starting four and posting 19 tackles/5 tackles for loss/1 sacks. Junior totals included 13/1.5/1 when he started all four games he played in. Has struggled with knee injuries since his sophomore season.
Positive: Athletic and impressive looking defensive lineman who's effective when he is on the field. Quick off the snap, displays a variety of moves and squeezes between blocks to get up the field. Chases the action hard, easily gets down the line of scrimmage and makes plays in pursuit. Possesses terrific movement skills.
Negative: Lacks a great closing burst. Struggles defending the run and gets handled at the point by blocks. Lacks natural bulk. Has an injury history.
Analysis: Nielsen passes the eyeball test and often plays at a high level, but injuries have really hampered him the past two years. Recently decided to retire from football and won't be in camp this summer.
