Bio: Two-year starter who led Purdue in catches as a senior, totaling 36/244. Junior numbers included 29/249.
Positive: Solid pass-catching tight end who lacks the measurables to be first on the depth chart at the next level. Blocks with good lean, gets leverage on opponents, and flashes ability blocking in motion. Quickly releases off the line into pass routes, nicely adjusts to the errant throw, and displays strong hands with the ability to pull the fastball from the air. Consistently extends to make the reception away from his frame and possesses terrific focus.
Negative: Not a strong or sturdy tight end. Rarely gets movement as a blocker or finishes off defenders. Lacks the speed to be a true downfield threat at the position.
Analysis: Adams is a hardworking prospect who gets the most from his ability and has been reliable on the college level. He does the little things well and can make it as a number two tight end in a system that consistently put him in motion.
