Collin Franklin

School: Iowa State
Position: TE
Bio: All-Conference selection as a senior after leading Iowa State in receptions with 54/530/3. Struggled with illness throughout his junior season and totaled just 7/65. Sophomore totals included 15/258/2.
Positive: Solid pass-catching tight end with average size/speed numbers. Quickly releases off the line into routes, nicely adjusts to the errant throw, and makes the reception in stride. Makes the difficult reception in a crowd and holds onto the ball. Extends his hands offering the quarterback a nice target, consistently lays out or works to make the tough catch. Displays quickness into pass routes and stays low on exit.
Negative: Does not block with good fundamentals and shows poor strength at the point of attack. Lacks footwork in pass protection and cannot help out against speed rushers.
Analysis: Franklin comes off a solid season and put himself back on the map as a free agent prospect. He offers potential as a backup move tight end who will be most effective when put in motion before the snap.
