M.D. Jennings

School: Arkansas State
Position: S
Bio: Three-year starter awarded all-Conference honors the past two years. Had 84/3/4 as a senior and 64/1/6 as a junior. Led the team in tackles during his sophomore campaign with 67/3/5.
Positive: Fluid, agile defensive back who makes plays sideline to sideline. Stays with receivers across the middle of the field, covers a lot of area, and possesses good ball skills. Quickly breaks to the throw out of his plant, possesses a sense of timing, and fights hard to defend passes. Effectively diagnoses plays, takes proper angles to the action, and wraps up when tackling. Shows burst to the ball and gets up the field quickly to defend the run.
Negative: Lacks true safety size and is built more like a cornerback. Not a sturdy defensive back who delivers a lot of jarring blows or brings opponents down on initial contact.
Analysis: Jennings is an athletic defensive back with terrific coverage skills, but he is limited by size. He possesses all the ability necessary to be used as a dime back.
