Frantz Placide

School: Wagner
Position: S
Bio: Two year starter awarded all-Conference honors as a senior after posting 40 tackles and breaking up four passes. All-Conference special teams player in 2009 after defensive numbers of 40 tackles with seven pass breakups. Also blocked six kicks as a junior and averaged 26.8 yards on 29 kick returns, bringing two back for scores.
Positive: Nice sized, athletic safety best making plays in the box. Has a physical style, flies around the ball and physically beats down opponents to defend the throw. Stays with receivers out from their breaks, shows a closing burst to the action and a hard hitting defender that goes after opponents. Outstanding special teams player that impacts the game in a variety of ways.
Negative: Inefficient, wastes a lot of motion and does not take proper angles to plays. Indecisive, slow to react and marginally instinctive. Does not possess great recovery speed.
Analysis: Placide is a terrific athlete that very much looks the part and often plays to it. He needs a lot of work on his defensive back skills yet the ability to impact on special teams makes his worth bringing into camp this summer.
