Bio: Junior college transfer awarded varying degrees of All-American and all-Conference honors the past two seasons. Rushing totals last season included 218/1108/11 with 42/317/3 as a receiver. Junior numbers included 160/931/10 on the ground with 67/805/5 as a receiver.
Positive: : Productive, versatile skill player who lacks great upside. Displays terrific quickness, possesses the agility to turn the corner. Change direction without losing speed. Elusive, creates yardage, and can make several defenders miss over the course of a single run. Runs with good lean and gets lost behind blockers. Terrific receiver out of the backfield and easily adjusts to the errant throw.
Negative: Easily brought down by the first defender and doesn E(TM)t pick up yards after contact. Does not have the speed to run to daylight. Must pick up the blocking intensity.
Analysis: Deed is coming off a pair of incredibly productive seasons and is a versatile prospect who can contribute as a runner, receiver, and return man. His lack of speed will knock him out of the draft, but he has the tools necessary to make an NFL roster as a third-down back/return specialist.
