Philip Sylvester

School: Florida A&M
Position: RB
Bio: All-Conference selection as a senior after posting ground numbers of 170/968/10. Junior totals included 112/455/7 on the ground. All-Conference selection as a freshman when he averaged 25 yards on 29 kick returns.
Positive: Smallish but elusive skill player who can be used in a variety of roles. Displays terrific footwork, quickness, and elusiveness in his running. Runs with good lean, keeps his feet moving on contact, and tough to catch. Patient, waits for blocks to develop, and does a nice job bouncing around the corner and avoiding the pile. Gives effort blocking. Solid pass catcher out of the backfield.
Negative: Marginal strength in his running and easily brought down by a single defender. Does not get results blocking. Not a true breakaway threat.
Analysis: Sylvester has been very productive at Florida A&M the past four seasons as a running back and return specialist. He projects as a situational runner in the NFL and would enhance his chances of making a final roster if displays prior form as a return man.
