Graig Cooper

School: Miami-Fl
Position: RB
Bio: Played in just 10 games as a senior, posting 35/165/1 on the ground. Junior totals included 134/695/4 on the ground and 18/132/1 receiving. Suffered a devastating knee injury in December 2009. Posted a career-best 841 yards on the ground as a sophomore and added 29 receptions. Was the Hurricanes E(TM) leading rusher after his freshman, sophomore and junior seasons.
Positive: One-time highly rated ball carrier who struggled to get back to prior form after his knee injury. Elusive, constantly creates yardage, and displays the ability to make several defenders miss over the course of a single run. Will pick and choose his spots on the inside, darts through the small openings of the defense, and shows a terrific burst of speed. Possesses the speed and agility to turn the corner. Keeps his feet moving up the field. Solid receiver out of the backfield.
Negative: Displayed minimal elusiveness as a senior. Not a strong runner who breaks tackles or picks up yardage off initial contact.
Analysis: Cooper rated as one of the best running back prospects in the nation until his injury. At the top of his game he justifiably reminds many of former Miami star Frank Gore with his ability to create yardage and elude defenders. Cooper looked like a shell of himself last year when he was just eight months removed from major knee surgery. He may take a while to return to form, if he ever does, but Cooper E(TM)s capable of producing at the next level if he gets his game back.
