Armando Allen

School: Notre Dame
Position: RB
Bio: Three-year starter who posted 107/514/2 carrying the ball as a senior in eight games. Underwent surgery in November to repair a hip flexor, which ended his season. Junior rushing totals included 86/697/3 with 28 receptions. Sophomore totals included 134/585/3 on the ground with 50/355/2 as a receiver.
Positive: : Smallish, creative ball carrier who is also effective as receiver out of the backfield. Runs low to the ground, will pick and choose his spots on the inside, and can make several defenders miss over the course of a single run. Uses his blocks all over the field, finds running lanes, and uses an effective stiff arm to keep plays alive. Solid receiver out of the backfield.
Negative: More of a one-speed back and lacks a true burst. Not a strong ball carrier who can pick up yardage off initial contact or breaks tackles.
Analysis: Allen has been moderately productive at Notre Dame the past three seasons and shows enough skill to project as a third-down back/situational ball carrier in the NFL if he's healthy.
