Ricky Stanzi

School: Iowa
Position: QB
Bio: Four-year starter who finished his senior season with 64.1%/3004/25/6 after putting up 56.2%/2417/17/15 as a junior.
Positive: Developing passer who consistently makes proper choices in the pocket. Patient, displays a sense of awareness, and has terrific field vision. Stands strong in the pocket, takes the big hit in order to get the throw away, and throws a catchable pass. Quickly locates the open wide out, nicely places the ball into receivers E(TM) hands, and does an outstanding job controlling the offense. Effectively looks off the safety, displays the ability to elude the rush, and does a nice job protecting the ball.
Negative: Will force the ball to covered receivers at times. Does not possess the arm strength to drive the ball downfield. Loses speed on passes when trying to throw on the move.
Analysis: Stanzi has been a productive college quarterback who has shown improvement in his game. He understands the position and has enough physical skills to be drafted in the middle rounds with the hopes of development down the road.
