Justin Roper

School: Montana
Position: QB
Bio: Former Oregon quarterback who transferred to Montana in 2009 then moved into the starting lineup as a senior, posting 61.5%/1885/19/11.
Positive: Nice-sized pocket passer with a solid arm. Sells ball fakes, patient, and buys time for receivers. Shows a sense of timing, throws a catchable ball, and effectively places passes where only his receivers can make the reception. Makes good choices in the pocket, displays excellent field vision, and lets receivers run to the ball.
Negative: Cannot drive deep passes. Occasionally stares down the primary target. Cannot pick up yards with his legs.
Analysis: After seeing minimal time his first three seasons on the college level, Roper picked up his game last year. He offers legitimate talent for the next level and is a free agent prospect who should be developed on a practice squad.
